MOLINE, Ill. — Walgreens pharmacies in the Quad Cities are adapting to "staffing challenges" by temporarily closing some of their locations and adjusting store hours, according to a Walgreens spokesperson.
Several viewers reached out to News 8 after seeing closing signs at some locations across the area, including the store at 3601 16th Street in Moline. There have also been reports of pharmacies closing in Rock Island, Davenport and Bettendorf. So, we reached out to Kris Lathan with Walgreens' corporate team to find out what was going on.
"We continue to take steps to help mitigate these pressures, however, there are some instances where we’ve had to adjust or reduce pharmacy operating hours as we work to balance staffing and resources in the market to best meet customer demand," Lathan said via email.
Lathan also noted that the company is adjusting hours of operation to create "minimal disruption" for customers and patients. The company is directing these folks to nearby Walgreens locations for prescription needs.
