SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa — The Scott County Sheriff's Office has identified a woman who died in a Monday afternoon crash.
Officials identified the victim as 77-year-old Pamela Brennan, of New Liberty.
According to the Scott County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to a reported car crash near the 12500 block of New Liberty Road shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 8.
Investigators said a vehicle was heading westbound on New Liberty Road when it veered off-road, struck an embankment and went airborne. The vehicle landed in a cornfield on the north side of the road. The driver drove through the cornfield until coming to a rest in another ditch.
Investigators said there were two people inside the car—a 64-year-old male driver and Brennan. The driver received medical attention at the scene but refused additional treatment. Brennan was taken to a hospital, where she eventually died.
Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts during the accident, according to police.
