Vettes on the River returning to LeClaire

Money raised from the car show will be donated to organizations in the Quad Cities benefitting Vietnam veterans.

LE CLAIRE, Iowa — Vettes on the River is returning to LeClaire for another year.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the LeClaire Levee.

More than 250 Corvettes from across the country are expected to attend the car show, which raises money for organizations in the Quad Cities benefitting Vietnam veterans.

Admission is free for spectators, but Corvette owners can register their cars the morning of the show. The Riverboat Twilight will also be offering 90-minute cruises for $22. The cruises will depart at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. The first two cruises have tickets available as of 4 p.m. Friday afternoon but the 4 p.m. cruise has sold out. Here's the schedule for the event:

  • 8 a.m. – Gates open for Corvette parking
  • 8 a.m. – Breakfast from Big Dave & Holly’s at the Levee Pavilion
  • 8-10:30 a.m. – Registration
  • 9 a.m. – Raffle drawings, silent auction and 50/50 raffle starts
  • 10:15 a.m. – Call to assemble
  • 10:30 a.m. – Lunch from Big Dave & Holly’s at the Levee Pavilion
  • 10:30 a.m. – Color guard ceremony
  • 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. – First Riverboat Twilight cruise
  • 3 p.m. – Awards presentation
