Davenport's The Diner announces it's closing

The popular brunch and breakfast spot is planning to be open this upcoming weekend, Oct. 18-20, with a limited menu.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — A popular breakfast and brunch spot in downtown Davenport will be closing, according to a Facebook post.

The Diner, located in the Freight House Farmers Market building on River Drive, announced last week that it will be closing. No details have been provided yet on when the restaurant will close, but a subsequent Facebook post said it plans to be open this upcoming weekend, Oct. 18-20, with a limited menu.

We have had so much fun taking care of all our friends who have supported The Diner! We are so sad to let you know we will be closing our Freighthouse location. Can’t wait to see as many of you as we can this Friday, Saturday and Sunday as we will be announcing our closing here very soon!  We love you all!  XOXO-Mama

The Diner said it will continue to post updates on its Facebook page. It will be hosting a Social Justice Chicken n Waffles Sing-a-long organized by One Human Family QCA this Wednesday at 6 p.m. Attendees must register by emailing richdhendricks@msn.com.
