'Listen to me' | What paranormal investigators found while looking into a QC park

Whispering Souls Paranormal Investigators searched Longview Park for evidence of spirits. Along the way, they raised nearly $800 for the Rock Island park.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — It was an evening of spooky sounds and otherworldly voices as Whispering Souls Paranormal Investigators spent hours searching Rock Island's Longview Park.

The Quad City paranormal team conducted the investigation on June 29. They presented their findings at the Friends of Longview Park monthly meeting in August.

After about four hours of walking through Longview and asking questions to any wayward spirits, recordings from the team picked up numerous alleged voices. Audio clips appear to capture sayings such as "listen to me," "I'm lost," "wait for it," "she sees us," "Todd wait" and various growls.

Whispering Souls conducted the search and donated their services as a fundraiser. $750 was raised for Friends of Longview Park's efforts to restore the park's conservatory.

"It was very successful," Tom Sparkman, Friends of Longview president, said. "We had 28 people at [the investigation]. Almost all of them had never been in Longview Park before they attended."

The paranormal team's purpose is to provide evidence-based findings of spirits while providing educational opportunities for the Quad City community.
