Rock Island County Council on Addictions welcomes public to open house

RICCA is hosting an open house on Aug. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. where it will introduce its new executive director, Scott Dahlke.

EAST MOLINE, Ill. — The Rock Island County Council on Addictions is inviting the public to an open house on Wednesday, August 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. Attendees will have the chance to meet Scott Dahlke, the council's new executive director.

Light refreshments will be provided at the council's Administration Building (the first, smaller structure) at RICCA's campus at 1607 John Deere Rd. in East Moline.

Dahlke has 25 years of nonprofit experience and has received accolades for his work both with Rejuvenate Housing in Davenport and MCSA in Muscatine.

In his new role, Dahlke wants to focus on expanding the organization's current outpatient, prevention, anger management and men's residential programs to include DUI clients. Dahlke also wants to revitalize RICCA's Margaret Stutsman Lodge to once again house female clients.

RICCA Board Chair, Caryn Unsicker, expressed confidence in Dahlke's leadership, noting his endorsements from Muscatine's mayor and community foundation.

"Scott's commitment to putting clients first aligns perfectly with RICCA's core value, a principle established by founders Carl and Margaret Stutsman in 1960. This client-centered approach is reflected in the dedication of RICCA's long-term staff, many of whom have been with the organization for over twenty to thirty years," Unsicker wrote in a press release.

RICCA has provided substance abuse disorder, prevention and behavioral health services to the QCA and beyond since 1960. The organization also provides domestic violence assessment and treatment in both individual and group settings and prevention services for youth and families in Rock Island, Henry and Mercer counties.
