“Twenty years ago, we started the Women of Influence Awards in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor, and we’re very excited to bring this award event to the Quad Cities to recognize the outstanding women making a difference in this area,” John Lohman, CEO and president of Corridor Media Group, said in a press release. The organization is based in North Liberty, Iowa, and publishes the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal and the Corridor Business Journal.

Ten women will be honored each year through the Women of Influence Awards, as well as one Emerging Woman of Influence who is under the age of 35 and is poised to take on larger community-wide roles in the years to come.

The awards dinner will be held on Thursday, May 23. This is separate from, and takes the place of, the past Quad Cities ATHENA Leadership Awards, which was acquired last year by the QCBJ from Women Lead Change.
