BETTENDORF, Iowa — May is Mental Health Awareness Month and M.A.D. Therapy is teaming up with Coffee Apothecary to bring you an evening of drinks, thought-provoking poetry, mental health discussions and a piece of nature to bring home with you.
Mental Health M.A.D.ness will run from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at Coffee Apothecary at 2571 53rd Ave. in Bettendorf.
Anyone is invited to this free event, although the terrarium portion of the night does require pre-purchased tickets. Those are $25 and can be purchased here.
A portion of the proceeds from ticket and drink sales will go to The Gray Matters Collective, a Quad Cities organization working to bring mental health to the forefront of conversation and policy.
It will be a celebration of connection, community, creativity and mental health, according to the organizers. The agenda will be:
- 4:30 - 4:45: Spoken word with Roaring Rhetoric
- 4:45 - 5:45: Mental health panel/discussion
- 5:45 - 6:30: Build your own terrarium
