STERLING, Ill. — It's a race that's truly unlike any other in Illinois! The 2024 Hennepin Hundred will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5. It offers a 100-mile race, a 50-mile race, a 50K race and a 100-mile relay.
The Hennepin Hundred is the only point-to-point, all-trail ultramarathon in the state. It takes runners from Sterling, on the Rock River, to Colona, near the mighty Mississippi, and follows the historic Hennepin Canal State Trail.
Known as 'flat and fast' this trail encompasses all types of terrain as it follows Illinois' longest multi-use trail. Runners will travel across historic locks and lift bridges as they race by corn fields and northwest Illinois towns.
Along the way, 150 volunteers cheer the runners on. Many of the volunteers are ultra runners themselves. However, more are needed for this year's race! You can sign up here.
This is a Western States Qualifying race.
