DAVENPORT, Iowa — A Davenport nonprofit is hosting a social hour to help fund its mission.
Humility Homes and Services (HHSI) will be putting on "Humility's Social Hour: Cheers for Change" on Thursday, March 14 from 4-7 p.m. The event is open to the public and does not require tickets or registration.
The event will be held at Crawford Brew Works, located on Devils Glen Road in Bettendorf. Staff members from Humility and the event's sponsor, the Iowa State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, will be guest bartending from 5 to 6 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will help fund the nonprofit's mission to help end homelessness in the community. Humility offers numerous services to help those experiencing homelessness find safe and secure housing, including an emergency shelter, veterans services and short-term rental assistance. "Every person in our community can play a part in ending homelessness," Josh Graves, director of marketing development, said. "Through 'Humility's Social Hour: Cheers for Change,' we aim to raise awareness and unite the community in support of our neighbors. We are grateful for the Young Lawyers Division's sponsorship, which enables us to host this event free of charge and allows the event’s proceeds to make the most impact for those experiencing homelessness in the Quad Cities."
Graves joined The Current on News 8 to talk more about what people can expect at the event. You can watch his full interview in the above video.
