ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — The Haunted Rock Island Roadhouse Paracon is back for its second year.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., followed by an exclusive VIP paranormal investigation from 8 p.m. to midnight. It will take place at the historic Haunted Rock Island Roadhouse, formerly known as the Haunted Rock Island YMCA, at 500 20th St.

Think of this like a convention for all things paranormal. More than 120 vendors will be on hand, for everything from Big Foot to cryptids, crystals to herbalism and astrology, as well as extraterrestrials, spiritualism, readings and more. There will also be workshops, kids activities, a haunted happy hour, psychic readings, presentations, authors and a live, VIP paranormal investigation. You can find the full list of vendors and activities here

General Admission tickets are $5 and include access to all vendors, celebrities, presentations and teams. There are also several add-on options that can be purchased in addition to GA tickets, including:

  • $40 VIP Investigation - from 8 p.m. to midnight, led by the Get Haunted/Paranormally Blonde team
  • $20 Rock Island Roadhouse Tour - 90-minute guided tour of all floors of the building, including the basement
  • $60 Build A Rempod Workshop - Lauren Haunts will guide attendees through building a Rempod and then investigating with it
  • Deaf Paranormal Investigator Experience - Silent Explorers will lead attendees through an investigation where everyone is wearing earplugs

All tickets can be purchased here, while supplies last, by scrolling down to the bottom of the page.

The event brought in more than 3,000 people in its inaugural year, and organizers are hoping for an even bigger turnout in 2024.

The building the paracon will be held in served as a YMCA from 1913 to 1977, but also as a brothel and a speakeasy. It has ties to John Looney and Al Capone of the mob, has seen multiple deaths, was the site of a murder and has had several reports of paranormal activity.
