Catch live music and more at Dixon's Dement Town Music Fest on Sept. 7

All the action takes place in the 600 block of Depot Avenue from 3 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7.

DIXON, Ill. — Calling all music fans! The Dement Town Music Fest is returning next month to Dixon, Illinois, featuring local and regional artists alike.

All the action takes place in the 600 block of Depot Avenue from 3 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7. Gates open at 2 p.m.

Discover Dixon put on the event for the first time in 2023 and called it a big hit. That's why they say it's coming back bigger and better in 2024.

Headlining the event is the Chicago-based cover band, Hello Weekend. The group's performance last year was a fan favorite, according to Discover Dixon. From Lady Gaga to Guns N' Roses, Hello Weekend will put on a high-energy performance of songs spanning genres and generations.

Another Chicago band coming to Dixon is The Empty Pockets, who call their style “a joyful friction of blues, Americana, folk, and rock n’ roll spiked with roots soul.” Finally, a local favorite from Ashton will take the stage. The two-man acoustic group Burn 'N Bush will get the show started.

Lil' Smoked, Mary's Diner and PJ's will be serving up food and drinks for festivalgoers. There will also be an axe-throwing area and cornhole/bags boards around the fest.

Tickets are $15 in advance and can be purchased here. That price increases to $20 at the gate. All ages are welcome, and those 21 and up should be prepared to show their ID for alcohol purchases. Picnic table seating is available but people are allowed to bring their own chairs. Outside coolers are not allowed.

Tune into The Current from 4 to 5 p.m. on weekdays to catch live interviews impacting you, your family and your hometown as well as all of the biggest headlines of the day.
