Meet the Davenport native whose nail art has appeared in Vogue, Cosmopolitan

Dao Vo graduated from La' James College in Davenport before jumpstarting her career as a nail tech. Her work has been a favorite of Grammy-winning musician Tyla.

LOS ANGELES — A Davenport native has turned her artistry into a skyrocketing business.

Dao Vo grew up in Davenport and attended La' James International College in town, known for its beauty and cosmetology programs. After graduating, she made her way out to Los Angeles, where it didn't take long for Vo to find success.

Vo recently did the nails for South African musician, Tyla, winner of the 2024 Grammy for Best African Music Performance for her hit single "Water."

Vo's nail work for Tyla has also been featured on the musician's magazine covers for Vogue and Cosmopolitan.

She stopped by The Current on News 8 to discuss the jump from the QCA to L.A., working with award-winning musicians and where she wants her career to go from here. You can catch her full interview in the above video.

And check Vo's work out on her Instagram here or more of her stuff through her linktr.ee here.
