Celebrate Native American heritage at the Colonel Davenport House on Arsenal Island

The Colonel Davenport House is teaming up with the Inter-Tribal League of American Indians for a weekend all about celebrating local Native American heritage.

ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Ill. — The Colonel Davenport House is teaming up with the Inter-Tribal League of American Indians for a weekend all about celebrating local Native American heritage. It takes place this Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 3-4. 

The Inter-Tribal League of American Indians organization will hold short performances, with cultural items and tipis on display. Artifacts dating back to 12,000 BC will also be on display in chronological order from the QC Archaeological Society. 

The event is being held from 12-4 p.m. each day. Admission is $5 and includes a guided tour of the Colonel Davenport House. Attendees 18 and older must have a U.S. photo I.D. to be granted admission. For more information, visit www.davenporthouse.org.
