BETTENDORF, Iowa — The city of Bettendorf is bringing back its annual winter carnival for a day of indoor and outdoor activities the whole family can enjoy.
The city, in partnership with the Bettendorf Public Library, Family Museum and the Bettendorf Parks & Recreation Department, will host the winter carnival on Saturday, February 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a grand finale at the Bettendorf Community Center from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
"It can be difficult to find fun family activities for all ages during the winter months, so the Winter Carnival is a great opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy the many amenities the City has to offer for free or at a low-cost," said Jillian Aschliman, Library Director in a press release. "The Library is always happy to collaborate with the Family Museum and Parks & Recreation Departments for large-scale community events!”
Inside activities - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

- Balloon creations
- Little hands site (activities for ages 5 and under)

- Make a snowflake

Outdoor activities - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting
- Faye's Field (18th Street near the library)
- Snow obstacle course
- Palmer Hills Golf Course (2999 Middle Road)
- Sledding
- Cross country skiing (limited ski rentals or BYO)
Grand finale - 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Bettendorf Community Center (2204 Grant Street)
- Indoor snowball fight
- Pin the nose on the snowman
- Ice cube toss
- Snowy temporary tattoos
- Winter coloring
- Snow bead bracelet making
- MOVIE: Frozen at 3 p.m.
"The Winter Carnival is a great annual family fun event with tons of activities for all ages to enjoy indoors and outdoors," said Kim Kidwell, Culture & Recreation Director. "The Family Museum, the Community Center, and the Library are happy to host this event to help cure winter boredom!"
