The Inter Tribal League of American Indians gets ready to dance back into Bald Eagle Days

The 2024 Bald Eagle Days will once again feature a special powwow performance and celebration, courtesy of the league. Bald Eagle Days will be January 5-7.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — The 2024 Bald Eagle Days celebration is returning, once again, to the North Exhibition Hall in the QCCA Expo Center. This year's BED will run from Friday, January 5 to Sunday, January 7.

It's the Midwest's largest celebration of the bald eagle. The event coincides with the time of year when thousands of bald eagles migrate to the greater QCA region to feed off the Mississippi River.

It's a time for displays, live eagle watching, bird of prey demonstrations, and other animal and insect educational opportunities. There will also be crafts and vendors. Thousands of people are expected to attend the annual event.

One of the demonstrations visitors can look forward to is the Inter Tribal League of American Indians which will be celebrating with a powwow. A co-organizer of the league's celebration, Marty Chaney, joined The Current on News 8 to discuss the event. You can watch his full interview in the above video.
