MOLINE, Ill. — River Action is hosting the annual Taming of the Slough Adventure Triathlon on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Beginning at 8 a.m., the event includes paddling, mountain biking and running. The route takes participants through Sylvan Slough by kayak or canoe, then through the single-track mountain bike trails on Sylvan Island and finally with a run across the Arsenal Island.
Participants are encouraged to arrive before 7:30 a.m. to register or check in if they didn't register in advance or for same-day packet pick-up. The race location is 1701 1st Ave Moline at the Bass Street YMCA. All transitions take place at the foot of 17th Street outside the Bass Street YMCA in downtown Moline.
