Sunday JDC Blog: Leaders and Notes

The final round of the John Deere Classic began with Daniel Summerhays in the lead at 19-under par. Click here for updates on leaders and scores.

Jordan Spieth won the 2013 John Deere Classic.

The fifth playoff hole was a rough one for Zach Johnson, Jordan Spieth and David Hearn. All three fought trees as obstacles on their second shot.

Johnson hit his into the water, resulting in a penalty shot. Hearn hit a bogey.

When Spieth made par at hole 18, he won.

After playing the fourth playoff on hole 17, all three made par, and continue on to a fifth playoff at the 18th hole.

The third playoff hole ended in a par for each contender. They will go on to a fourth playoff hole.

After two playoff holes, Zach Johnson, Jordan Spieth, and David Hearn are moving on to a third playoff hole. The third playoff will be played at hole 16. The first two were at the 18th hole, where all three players shot par both times.

Daniel Summerhays shot a bogey on the 18th hole, finishing Round four at 18-under par.

David Hearn finished the 18th hole with a par, remaining in tie for first with Jordan Spieth and Zach Johnson.

Johnson, Spieth and Hearn are leading the field at 19-under.

The tournament will now go into overtime, and the three leaders will participate in a playoff on hole 18 to determine the winner.

After driving into the bunker on hole 18, Zach Johnson bogeyed, dropping to 19-under for the conclusion of his fourth round at the 2013 John Deere Classic. This shot made a four-way-tie for first place.

Daniel Summerhays went for an eagle on hole 17, but settled for a birdie bringing him up to a tie for first with Jordan Spieth, Zach Johnson, and David Hearn.

Zach Johnson regained the lead after a birdie on hole 17. He leads the field at 20-under par.

Jordan Spieth, who finished at 19-under par and David Hearn, through 16 holes, are tied in second.

Jordan Spieth has joined the top of the field after a birdie on the 18th hole. Zach Johnson and David Hearn are through 16 holes.

David Hearn has jumped to the top of the leaderboard with Zach Johnson after a birdie on hole 16. The two are leading at 19-under par, both through 16 holes.

A bogey on hole 15 set Daniel Summerhays back to 18-under par, leaving Zach Johnson alone on top, leading the field once again.

Summerhays stands in a five-way tie for second at 18-under par.

Johnson, through 16 holes, has parred every hole on the back nine during Round four. He leads at 19-under.

Daniel Summerhays birdied hole 14, bringing him up to a tie at the top with defending champion, Zach Johnson. They stand at 19-under par.

Daniel Summerhays and David Hearn birdied the 13th hole, pushing them up to 18-under. They are in second with Matin Flores.

Zach Johnson, through 13 holes remains in the lead.

Steve Stricker finished at 16-under par, and five-under for the day.

Several contenders have joined the ranks in fourth at 16-under par.

Chad Campbell, through 16 holes, has made five birdies throughout Round four.

Patrick Reed, through 13 holes, has had an up and down day with five birdies and two bogeys.

Jordan Spieth, through 13 holes, has made four birdies and one bogey in the final round.

Matt Jones, through 12 holes has made two birdies on the back nine.

Round four's leader earlier in the day, Daniel Summerhays, is through ten holes and has made one birdie and four bogeys in his final round.

Zach Johnson remains in the lead at 19-under par, halfway through the final round.

Finishing Round four, Martin Flores is at 18-under par, and in second place. He eagled the second hole of the round, and then birdied six times after, ending at eight-under par for the day. Round four was Flores' best round of the weekend.

Through nine holes, David Hearn is at par for Round four, in third at 17-under.

Steve Stricker, Daniel Summerhays, and Jerry Kelly stand in fourth place at 16-under par.

Daniel Summerhays is now tied in fourth with Patrick Reed and Steve Stricker. Through eight holes, Summerhays is three-over par for Round four, after hitting his fourth bogey in a row on the front nine.

Zach Johnson is through nine holes, and remains at the top at 19-under par. Johnson made four birdies and one bogey on the front nine.

Steve Stricker, through 14 holes, is five-under par for the final round and is at 16-under for the tournament.

Martin Flores is two strokes behind Johnson in second with David Hearn at 17-under par. Hearn is at par for Round four.

Daniel Summerhays is now in a three-way tie for second after he hit three bogeys on holes five, six and seven.

Zach Johnson is in the lead at 19-under par through eight holes.

Summerhays, Martin Flores, and David Hearn are at 17-under par. Flores is through 15 holes, Summerhays and Hearn are through seven.

Three time JDC champion, Steve Stricker, is at 15-under par through 13 holes.

Zach Johnson is back to the top of the leaderboard, sharing the top spot with Daniel Summerhays, at 18-under par.

Johnson is through seven holes and Summerhays is through six.

Steve Stricker is still tied in fourth at 16-under par.

David Hearn, in third is at par for Round four.

Daniel Summerhays is down from his two-stroke lead after he hit a bogey on hole five, now leading the field at 19-under. Zach Johnson stands in second at 18-under par, and David Hearn in third at 17-under.

Steve Stricker has made his way up to fourth place with J.J. Henry.

Stricker is through 11 holes at five-under par for the day. He and Henry are at 16-under par.

Zach Johnson made a 27-foot birdie putt on hole five, bringing him up to 18-under par, surpassing David Hearn for second place.

Hearn is at par through four holes.

Steve Stricker, through ten holes, has moved up to 15-under par, four-under for the round.

Updated Sunday at 1:25 p.m. --

The top standings remain the same as Summerhays continues to lead the pack at 20-under through two holes. Hearn, through two holes, is at 18-under par and follows Summerhays in second.

Zach Johnson, through three holes, birdied one and two, and hit a bogey on three. Johnson is at 17-under par, one notch above a two way tie for fourth between Jason Bohn and J.J. Henry.

Daniel Summerhays, David Hearn, and Zach Johnson, stand at 19, 18, and 17- under par, respectively. All three are through hole number one. Johnson and Hearn both birdied the hole, Summerhays made par.

Steve LeBrun finished Round four at seven-under, and 14-under for the tournament.

After making a birdie on his first hole, Johnson moved up to 17-under par, two strokes behind leader Daniel Summerhays at 19-under.

Steven Bowditch is at 15-under through ten holes, and six-under for the round. Chris Kirk is also at 15-under through two holes in Round four.

Steve LeBrun, through 16 holes is in fourth on the leaderboard with Patrick Reed, who is through two holes. They are at 15-under. Reed made birdies on holes one and two.

Steven Bowditch is at 14-under through nine holes. He is at five-under for the round, making five birdies on the front nine.

Jason Bohn, through four holes is at three-under par for the round, and stands at 14-under.

Martin Flores is at 13-under par through five holes. After making an eagle on hole two, and a birdie on five, he is at three-under for Round four so far.

Also at 13-under is Bryce Molder, at six-under for the round. Molder made four birdies on the front nine, and has made two on the back nine.

Next to tee-off will be Patrick Reed and Morgan Hoffmann at noon.

Through 12 holes, Steve LeBrun has moved up to a tie at sixth place. LeBrun is at 14-under par overall and at seven-under for the round.

Lucas Glover, who was in the lead with two others after Round two, and Troy Matteson who was a top contender on the board Friday, will be the next to tee-off at 11:42 a.m.

After one eagle and three birdies, Nick Watney is having his best round yet in the 2013 John Deere Classic. Watney is through seven holes and is at 12-under par for the tournament.

The next to tee-off is Robert Streb and Chez Reavie at 11:06.  Streb is starting Round four at 10-under par. Reavie will start at 11-under par.

The final round of the John Deere Classic started with a 7:30 tee-time on Sunday, July 14, 2013. Round three concluded with Daniel Summerhays in the lead at 19-under par, followed by David Hearn at 17-under and defending champion, Zach Johnson at 16-under par.

Summerhays and Hearn tee-off at 12:45. Johnson will tee-off with J.J. Henry at 12:36.

The morning tee-times, Nick Watney and Bryce Molder have moved up the ranks. Molder through 6 holes is four-under par for the round. Watney, through four holes is also four-under par for the day. Both players are at 11-under for the tournament.

Watney made an eagle on hole two, as well as two birdies. Molder has made four birdies.
