Seton Elementary donates more than $1,600 to Mr. Thanksgiving

Seton Catholic School is doing its part to keep a holiday tradition going by supporting Bob Vogelbaugh, also known as Mr. Thanksgiving.

MOLINE, Ill. — Seton Catholic School is doing its part to keep a holiday tradition going by supporting Bob Vogelbaugh, the Quad Cities' own Mr. Thanksgiving.

On Friday, Nov. 22, the school donated more than $1,600 to Vogelbaugh, who has held an annual Thanksgiving dinner for more than 50 years in the Quad Cities.

Last month, he said he was ending the tradition, but that was before RIA Credit Union and Mercado on Fifth stepped in to keep the dinner going. Friday's donation led to an emotional afternoon for Mr. Thanksgiving.

"It's so hard to explain, but I feel they're all my adopted kids," Vogelbaugh said, "and I know there's a future long when I'm gone with kids like this across the country."
