A spokesperson from the Illinois State Police confirmed that there was a crash involving two semis on Interstate 74 near Knoxville, Illinois.
The crash happened Saturday morning, November 21, 2015 and was reportedly in the westbound lanes.
A News 8 viewer said westbound traffic was backing up more than a mile because of the crash. Eastbound traffic was reportedly moving fine. Sometime after 1 p.m., the viewer said that one lane was reopened to traffic.
The Illinois police spokesperson said roadways all over the area were slick and that they were “swamped” with calls.
The Iowa Department of Transportation was reporting that roadways all over the area were partially covered with snow.
