KNOX COUNTY, Ill. — Update evening of Tuesday, Jan. 9: The area has been reopened, according to an update from the sheriff's office.

I-74 eastbound at mile marker 46 to exit 51 is closed due to multiple semi accidents, according to a Knox County Sheriff's Office Facebook post.
The Sheriff's Office is reporting that I-74 Eastbound is closed between the Galesburg (Main St.) and Knoxville exits due to the accidents. Westbound traffic is being rerouted as well.
The Sheriff's Office asks that drivers avoid this area at this time.
