ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — The City of Rock Island has extended its ban on new vape shops.
Back in October, the city announced it would pause all new vape businesses through the end of 2024. Now, that pause is extended through the end of June 2025.
The City defines a vape shop as an establishment where tobacco products make up at least 80% of sales. Rock Island currently has four dedicated vape shops, although 30 total businesses sell vape products.
