ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — A man who was shot in Rock Island on the 4th of July has died from his injuries three weeks after the incident.
The 46-year-old man died on Thursday, July 25, according to Rock Island Police Chief Timothy McCloud.
Around 10:19 p.m. on July 4, officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of 24th Street and found the man with a gunshot wound to his chest. The man was transferred to a regional hospital for treatment.
No arrests have been made yet in connection to the shooting.
The Rock Island Criminal Investigations Division continues to investigate the incident.
