ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — Rock Island is hosting its fifth "Rock Island Unplugged," a casual public forum where residents can ask officials and department directors questions, on Monday, Nov. 6 at the Stern Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Any topic relating to the city, including business, projects, plans, services and public safety are allowed. If residents have a question but can't attend the event, they can email Sarah Hayden, community engagement manager, at hayden.sarah@rigov.org with their name, address, contact number and question.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with panel discussions beginning at 6 p.m. Hot hors d'oeuvres, non-alcoholic beverages, and a cash bar will be available for attendees.
Mayor Mike Thoms will begin the evening with an opening statement, followed by introductions of the seven council members and attending department directors. The floor will then be opened to resident questions.
“We are excited to hold another Rock Island Unplugged," Thoms said. "It is a great opportunity to meet and engage with the public. Residents and business owners can connect directly with myself or their alderperson. It’s a chance for the public to put a face to a name and encourages participation with their city.”
