Rock Island golf courses open for the season

Tee times at Saukie Golf Course and Highland Springs can be reserved up to 7 days in advance.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — With the start of spring just around the corner, golfers around Rock Island can get out and hit the links.

On Thursday, March 7, Saukie Golf Course and Highland Springs opened up to players for the season. The Highland Springs driving range is also operating with artificial mats.

Tee times can be reserved up to seven days in advance online for Highland at www.rigov.org/highlandteetime or by calling 309-732-7265. Reservations for Saukie can be placed at www.rigov.org/saukieteetime or by calling 309-732-2277. Both courses are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saukie and Highland Springs are both also offering specials for the season. At Saukie, you can play all 18 holes with a golf cart for $28 every day after 1 p.m., and two golfers can play for $40 on Wednesdays after 1 p.m. Meanwhile, at Highland Springs, two players can play the course for $50 after 1 p.m. on Mondays, and driving range buckets are two-for-one after 3 p.m. on Fridays.
