MOLINE, Ill. — The Quad Cities River Bandits is hosting a free admission day at Modern Woodmen Park to celebrate the ballpark's recognition as USA Today's best minor league ballpark.
The free game will be played on Sunday, April 21, when the River Bandits take on the Peoria Chiefs at 1:00 p.m. Tickets can be picked up at the stadium's box office from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Before the game begins, fans can score pregame player autographs. After the game, kids will be allowed to run the bases.
"It is such a great honor for all of us at the River Bandits to be named the 'Best Minor League Ballpark' in America by USA TODAY and we want to say thank you to everyone in this great community by opening the gates and letting everyone in free on Sunday, April 21st," River Bandits Owner Dave Heller said. "This award reflects our great partnership with the City of Davenport, Palmer Chiropractic Clinics, and especially all the wonderful people of this great community so it seems only fitting that we would say thank you by letting people in for free."
This year marks Modern Woodmen Park's second time receiving this award. The organization also received the award in 2013. The ballpark has also been recognized as the nation's best minor league ballpark by Bleacher Report, Ballpark Digest and Parade Magazine.
The Quad Cities River Bandits have unveiled their 2024 schedule which includes 66 home games.
