What to know ahead of the Quad City Air Show

Aerial performances will take off at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — If you've been hearing some rumbling in the skies above the Quad Cities, it might not be thunder; planes are beginning to arrive in the Quad Cities ahead of the upcoming Quad City Air Show.

Shows will take place on Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23. Gates open both days at 9:30 a.m., with the main air shows taking off around 1 p.m.

Performances include the Air Force's F-22 Raptor Team, the KC Flyers Formation Team, the United States Air Force Heritage Flight and more. Catch live music all day Saturday with performances by Hap Hazard, Electric Shock and headliner Aaron Tippin. A fireworks and laser show will follow. You can find a full list of performers here

There will be plenty to see on the ground as well, with numerous aircraft on display, including ones from World War II. Bouncy houses, face painting and other activities will be available for kids. Attendees can also book helicopter rides, with more information on those available here

One-day tickets for Saturday cost $50, and one-day tickets for Sunday cost $30. Tickets are also sold in bulk at reduced individual rates. Parking is available for $10, along with VIP passes. You can purchase your tickets here.

There are three separate areas for parking: Yellow, Blue and Red. Each one is near different air show attractions. Here's a breakdown of each area:

Yellow

  • limited handicap (concrete) parking
  • closest parking to kids activities and general admission open seating
  • short distance to concert stage

Blue (All onsite ticket purchases must go to the Blue gate)

  • limited handicap (grass) parking
  • near general admission area
  • close to static display aircraft
  • near vendors and food area

Red 

  • prepaid gate only
  • limited handicap (grass) parking
  • closest parking to Chalet Area
  • near general admission area
  • close to static display aircraft
  • near vendors and food area
