MOLINE, Ill. — The Quad Cities International Airport continues to bounce back after the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted travel across the nation, recording its busiest month since 2019.
In May, the airport had its busiest month in five years — with over 59,000 passengers flying out of Moline. An airport spokesperson said American Airlines is leading the charge, adding that it more than doubled its passenger numbers compared to May 2023.
"Local support is key to continued growth," Ashleigh Davis, public relations and marketing manager for the airport, said in a press release. "Airlines look for consistent passenger demand when expanding their services. It's a collective effort for our region to choose Quad Cities International Airport whenever possible for their travel needs."
Four major airlines operate out of the airport, including Allegiant, American Airlines, Delta and United.
