DAVENPORT, Iowa — To support inter-modal transportation and National Bike to Work Week, the Quad Cities' Metro public transit systems invite the public to combine biking and public transit as an option for commuting.
Beginning Monday, May 13 through Sunday, May 19, National Bike to Work Week will be celebrated by Davenport CitiBus, Bettendorf Transit, and the Illinois Quad Cities Metro public transit services to encourage the community to use their bikes and public transit for their travels.
During National Bike to Work Week, all three systems will be free for riders who choose to bring their bike during any part of their trip. Space could be limited since each bus can only accommodate up to two bikes on the rack at a time.
MetroLink said in a news release, "Whether you're heading to work, out for exercise, or just enjoying the day, utilizing public transit in conjunction with your bike extends the distance you can travel and multiplies your options!"
