Putnam Museum extends its hours on Thursday nights

The museum will also offer film screenings on the GIANT Screen Theater each week, including classics like Young Frankenstein and A Nightmare on Elm Street.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — The Putnam Museum and Science Center will be extending its hours on Thursday nights.

Beginning Thursday, Oct. 3, the museum will be open until 8 p.m. on Thursdays. Additionally, from Oct. 3-5, the museum will offer special throwback pricing to mark its 60th anniversary. Admission will be just 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for children.

Once the throwback celebration is completed, Thursdays will be a part of the museum's "Discovery Happy Hour." Every weekday after 3:30 p.m., admission is $5 off for non-members, and the museum store will also offer a 15% discount on merchandise.

Every third Thursday the museum will continue its "History on Tap" series, with drinks starting at 5 p.m. in the grand lobby followed by a speaker at 5:30 p.m. on the Lardner Balcony. On Oct. 17, the speaker will be Jeff Adamson with Guys In Ties Improv, and he'll present “Twisted Tales of the Quad Cities: Creepy and Bizarre Stories of the QCs.”

Finally, every Thursday at 7 p.m., the museum will hold a film screening at the GIANT Screen Theater. You can find the seasonal selection of Halloween favorites below:
