Study hoping to improve traffic safety in the Quad Cities area: Here's how you can participate

The Bi-State Regional Commission and Kaskaskia Engineering are asking for public input to develop a traffic safety plan for the Quad Cities, Kewanee and Muscatine.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — If you live in the Quad Cities, Kewanee or Muscatine, your input is wanted for a new traffic plan hoping to reduce accidents and overall traffic safety.

The Bi-State Regional Commission (BSRC) and Kaskaskia Engineering Group (KEG) are working to complete a Traffic Study Action Plan using public input to determine which locations need attention. BSRC received grant funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation in 2023 that will go towards the project.

In order to complete the plan, the two organizations are asking for public feedback to figure out which intersections or roads are most concerning to residents. An interactive map has been created where people can submit safety issues and pinpoint the exact location of concern. You can find that here. A comment form is also available to provide feedback, which can be found here
