East Moline police: Man arrested in shots fired incident

EAST MOLINE, Ill. — A man was arrested after a shots fired incident in East Moline, according to police.

According to the East Moline Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunshots in the Deerfield Woods Apartment complex shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. Investigators said that someone shot at a man entering a parked vehicle. The vehicle was hit, but neither the man nor two children who were inside the vehicle were injured.

Police said they tracked the suspect's vehicle to the same apartment complex. After negotiating, officers said the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Jessie Clark-Williams, surrendered and was taken into custody.

Clark-Williams was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm. Police said he was granted pretrial release under Illinois' SAFE-T Act and is in home confinement with a GPS monitor.
