Driver crashes car into Rock Island residence early Sunday morning, police investigating

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 21. No injuries were reported.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — Police are investigating after a driver crashed their car into a residence early Sunday morning in Rock Island, according to Chief of Police Timothy McCloud.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on July 21. McCloud said there were no witnesses, but officials believe the driver had lost control and struck a residence in the 4400 block of 14th Avenue. He added that the vehicle's occupants had fled the scene prior to officers arriving. 

No injuries have been reported. At this time, no arrests or citations have been issued. The Rock Island Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
