According to the Rock Falls Fire Department, crews were called to the Country Inn and Suites on the 2100 block of First Avenue in Rock Falls shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

When firefighters arrived, they found a fire that had broken out in room 102, with guests already evacuating the building. Crews were able to complete the evacuation of all three floors of the building, and the fire was cleared before 1:30 p.m.
