HENDERSON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, Ill. — Henderson County residents have a new option for sending tips to the police.

Residents who use iPhones or Android phones can download the P3 Tips app to submit tips about crimes. Henderson County Sheriff Matthew J. Link said in a press release that the app encrypts messages and allows tipsters to remain completely anonymous.

Users are able to submit images and videos that might be useful for investigators, and they can also have two-way conversations with officers seeking more information about the tip.

Link also said that P3 Tips is meant to provide information on active investigations. Crimes in progress should still be reported to 911.

P3 Tips isn't replacing older methods of sending in tips. Residents can still submit info to Henderson County Crime Stoppers at 309-867-6202 and 888-867-6202.
