1 person killed in 3-vehicle crash in Muscatine County

The Iowa State Patrol has identified the drivers involved in a fatal three-vehicle crash back on June 10 that left one man dead.

MUSCATINE COUNTY, Iowa — Update: The motorcyclist killed in a June 10 accident in Muscatine County has been identified by ISP as 28-year-old Kyle Dierks of Tipton, Iowa.

A motorcyclist is dead following an afternoon crash in Muscatine County.

According to Iowa State Patrol, a motorcyclist riding a 2022 Kawasaki was travelling southbound on Highway 38 shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 10. Meanwhile, the driver of a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder attempted to turn westbound at the intersection of Highway 38 and Brookview Road. The motorcyclist struck the Nissan, and the car ended up in the southbound lanes of Highway 38. The motorcyclist continued driving and was then struck by a 2011 Jeep Liberty travelling northbound on the highway.

The motorcycle rider was killed in the accident, and the Nissan's driver was taken to the hospital for their injuries. No further information on their condition has been released.

The names of the drivers involved haven't been released. The crash is still under investigation.
