MOLINE, Ill. — The Moline Police Department has launched a new online crime reporting system that residents can use to connect with officers.
The Desk Officer Reporting System (DORS) allows residents to report non-emergency crimes using an online form. Crimes that can be reported to DORS include motor vehicle burglary, criminal damage to property, home repair fraud, electronic harassment and more. Police officials said that crimes in progress and immediate threats should still be reported to 911.
A small trial of the DORS system in February was used to test it. During that time, officers received 21 crime reports.
Police officials said the new program is expected to expand to additional cities in Rock Island County. Moline residents can find the online crime reporting system here. Anyone filing an online report will need to attach a valid phone number and email address.
