Fire breaks out at city-operated storage unit in Davenport

No one was injured, according to the Davenport Fire Department.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Davenport firefighters responded to a structure fire on Wednesday morning.

According to the Davenport Fire Department, crews were called to the 200 block of South Marquette Street shortly before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30 after an employee reported a city-operated storage building was burning. When crews arrived, all occupants that had been inside the building were already evacuated. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the building's north side and eventually fully extinguished it.

No one was injured by the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
