DAVENPORT, Iowa — Update: A body found in the Mississippi River on Oct. 24 has been identified as 24-year-old Olivia Harrison. Find News 8's most recent reporting on this case here.
It's been a sleepless week for Kyle and Delitha Burrage.
"We're desperate right now," Kyle said. "She's a major, major part of our family, and we miss her dearly."
The couple's daughter, 24-year-old Olivia Harrison, hasn't been seen since Wednesday, Oct. 16. According to her mother, Olivia left for the riverfront at 9:30 p.m.
"She likes to be out here, take walks and clear her mind," Delitha said.
Her mother brought Olivia back home, near Vander Veer Park, then went to sleep.
"My youngest daughter came downstairs looking for her at midnight," Kyle said. "So when she woke my wife and I up, she asked us, 'Where's Olivia?'"
Olivia's mother and siblings called her home for the next 20 minutes, until calls stopped going through.
"At that point, we lost contact with her, and we haven't heard from her since," Kyle said.
Olivia graduated from North High School. Kyle said she loves to be in nature and is always there for her siblings. The couple's search has been supported by organizations like the Quad Cities Missing Person Network, who printed flyers that have been hung around town.
Olivia's parents are asking for members of the community to contact police if they believe they've seen her. They also asked for prayers for their daughter's safe return.
"We're God-fearing people," Kyle said. "We're spiritual, and we believe God will protect her and bring her home safely, with the help of the community."
