DAVENPORT, Iowa — Law enforcement officials have confirmed that shots were fired at NorthPark Mall in Davenport on Monday evening.
According to Davenport Assistant Police Chief Jamie Brown, an off-duty Davenport police officer reported shots had been fired inside the mall around 4:23 p.m. Additional local law enforcement responded to the scene, including the Iowa State Patrol and Scott County Sheriff's Office.
Police say initial information indicates one person sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The mall has been secured and police continue to investigate the incident. No other injuries have been reported at this time.
Brown said they do not have anyone in custody.
The mall remains closed as the investigation continues. NorthPark Mall management has decided to close the mall for the remainder of the evening.
Police say more information will be released once it's made available.
