Burn bans in effect around the Quad Cities

The bans are active until further notice.

SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa — Communities in and around the Quad Cities are under burn bans.

Clinton County issued a county-wide burn bane on Friday, Oct. 4 shortly after 3 p.m. Scott County Emergency Management also announced a ban for the entire county that took effect on Monday, Oct. 7 at 8 a.m. An order covering the Hillsdale, Port Byron/Rapids City and Cordova fire protection districts in Rock Island County was issued shortly after 11 a.m. on Monday, as well.

Some of the concerns cited while issuing the burn ban include dry weather, dried vegetation and windy conditions.

All of these burn bans are in effect until further notice.
