Bettendorf police chief to retire in April

Keith Kimball will be leaving the department with more than 35 years of service under his belt.

BETTENDORF, Iowa — Bettendorf's police chief is stepping down.

Chief Keith Kimball will retire from the department in April 2024, according to city documents. Kimball has served the city for over 35 years and took office as chief in May 2018.

The Bettendorf City Council is expected to approve plans for recruiting Kimball's successor at their meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The salary range for the position is listed between $110,368 and $176,765.
