BETTENDORF, Iowa — One dog was rescued, and no injuries were reported after a fire in Bettendorf Saturday night.
At 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, Bettendorf firefighters responded to a house fire in the 3000 block of Magnolia Drive.
The fire was quickly extinguished following the arrival of fire crews. Heavy smoke was seen coming from the home before crews’ first entry into it. The interior of the home’s main floor and the basement were searched; no one was home when the fire started. A dog was rescued from the home by firefighters.
The Davenport Fire Department, Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department, and Medic EMS of Scott County responded to the incident.
At this time, the home is uninhabitable. It’s retained smoke damage, though an overall estimate of everything damaged is still unknown. Utilities have been shut off, and MidAmerican Energy was notified. An investigation into possible causes remains ongoing.
