Moline fire officials said they were able to get the fire under control in 10 minutes.

MOLINE, Ill. — Five people had to leave their homes following a residential fire in Moline on Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, the Moline Fire Department responded to a fire at a single-family, one-story home located at 540 28th Avenue. Upon arrival, fire officials said that smoke was visible from the front door, and residents had already exited the home. Crews said they were able to track down the source of the fire and get it under control within 10 minutes.

Fire officials aren't sure if the home had working smoke detectors. The five people who were displaced are being assisted by the Red Cross.
