5 Quad Cities area men arrested in ISP human trafficking investigation

Five Quad Cities area men were arrested following a two-day human trafficking operation conducted by the Illinois State Police.

MOLINE, Ill. — Five Quad Cities area men are in custody following a two-day human trafficking operation conducted by the Illinois State Police.

According to ISP officials, law enforcement members conducted the operation in Moline on April 3-4, and the purpose was to identify people seeking commercial sex acts. After the operation concluded, five men were arrested. Each was charged with indecent solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child. The men are:

  • 24-year-old Rajeshwar Akku of Moline
  • 43-year-old Adam Curry of Sherrard
  • 45-year-old Timothy Danielson of Geneseo
  • 33-year-old Andy Hershberger of Roseville
  • 38-year-old Santeeno Nickerson of Moline

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, Akku's charge of indecent solicitation of a child was reduced to a charge of solicitation of a sexual act, a class A misdemeanor. His charge of traveling to meet a minor was dismissed. Akku has been sentenced to two years of court supervision.

ISP officials said that anyone who believes they've witnessed human trafficking should call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888, text *233733, or email ISP.CrimeTips@illinois.gov.
