DAVENPORT, Iowa — One person is dead and another is injured following a crash on River Drive in Davenport on Tuesday night.
According to the Davenport Police Department, officers responded to a crash near the intersection of East River Drive and Forest Road shortly after 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Investigators believe a Kia Soul driving eastbound lost control and crossed the center line before being hit by a Chevrolet Trailblazer heading west.
The Kia's driver, a 30-year-old man, was not wearing a seatbelt and died after being transported to a hospital for his injuries. The Chevrolet's driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was hospitalized for injuries that weren't deemed to be life-threatening.
The names of the victims haven't been released while family members are being notified. The crash is still under investigation.
