Power outage in Moline caused by fallen tree impacts thousands

MOLINE, Ill. — UPDATE: Power has been restored as of 3:30 p.m.

Traffic is slow on Avenue of the Cities in Moline, particularly around the Moline High School, due to a power outage. 

MidAmerican Energy tells News 8 that around 2,560 customers lost power when a tree limb fell on an overhead line near 34th St. and 6th Ave., near Riverside Park.

The company reports that they hope to have power restored by 4 p.m. Please avoid the area while crews work and traffic returns to normal.
