MOLINE, Illinois — For the benefit of Special Olympics Illinois, cops in Moline are taking part in the “Cop on a Rooftop” fundraiser.

Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like.

On Friday, May 20, 2016, the Moline Police Department will be at Dunkin’ Donuts on Avenue of the Cities from 5 a.m. until 2 p.m., according to Det. Scott Williams. They will be raising awareness of their cause and collecting donations for the Law Enforcement Torch Run that benefits Special Olympics Illinois.

Anyone who gives a donation (of any amount) will get a coupon for a free doughnut on Friday.  Donations of $10 or more will be rewarded with a free coffee mug.

Dunkin’ Donuts will also be donating $15,000 to the Torch Run Fund.

Tens of thousands of athletes train and compete in 19 sports through Special Olympics Illinois.
