Pleasant Valley Junior High unveils 'Ninja-Warrior-style' obstacle course

The course was built with student raised funds and a $15,000 grant from the Wellmark Foundation.

LE CLAIRE, Iowa — The ribbon has been cut on the new Pleasant Valley Junior High obstacle course.

The course contains 15 pieces of equipment that will challenge users in overall fitness, agility, endurance, strength and well-being.

Students will use it during the day, and it will be open to the public when school isn't in session.

Funding was raised by students and a generous $15,000 grant from the Wellmark Foundation.

Student Elise Hiatt said the course will be a welcome challenge.

"I think they really like that they can just come out here whenever they want and they can find something...," she said. "Like, I'm not tall, but I can do the cargo net... everyone can find something for themselves. It's a good way to challenge ourselves and to push ourselves to become the best person that we can be."
