DAVENPORT, Iowa — If you’re looking to geek out, this event is for you.
Planet Funk Con took place Friday through Sunday, June 28-30, at the RiverCenter in downtown Davenport. It was full of vendors, video games, voice actors, collectibles and more. Eric Stuart, who is well-known for voicing James and Brock in Pokémon, and Carlos Alazraqui, who is well-known for voicing Rocko’s Modern Life and Reno 9-1-1, were in attendance.
Marcus Gray, the showrunner for Planet Funk Con, says this event is for the “geeks,” but he welcomes any and everybody who loves pop culture.
"Anybody who’s ever loved any nerdy comic books, manga, anime, just anything on the pop culture spectrum,” he said.
If you missed the event this year, don’t worry. It's annual and will be back in downtown Davenport next year during the last weekend in June.
